crazy?

I may sound a little crazy but that's ok. Or maybe I have been speaking nothing but baby talk for the past 9 months so I can totally understand when Eden says something. Don't burst my mommy bubble - I think she said her first word!

She normally says it right on the first try, but I think she was being a little silly for the camera so it took a few tries. It's no wonder this was her first word (mama doesn't count), she LOVES babies!!

Moving on... last night Eden gave us a pretty good scare. We were laying in bed when I just had this feeling that I should go check on her. I went in her room and she was sound asleep. Out of nowhere, she started screaming. Right away I knew something was wrong because she NEVER screams like that. I picked her up and she was limp and unresponsive. I knew she was breathing because she was crying, but her eyes were rolled back in her head and she wouldn't move a muscle. I ran in the kitchen and tried to hold her more upright but she was still limp and wouldn't respond to me gently shaking her or yelling her name. I took her to Craig and she finally 'woke up'. She just layed on Craig and stared at the ceiling with a blank stare for a minute. Then she snapped out of it and started to cry her normal soft cry. I gave her a bottle and she was back to her normal happy self but I was still freaking out. Craig checked her out and said she seemed fine so eventually we all settled in for the night.

I called her pediatrician today and they wanted to see her. The doctor believes that it was a breath holding spell where she cried so hard, held her breath and passed out. These are often mistaken for seizures, which is what I had originally thought it was. Breath holding spells can cause small, uneventful seizures.

So, we just have to wait to see if this happens again. If it happens again I will know to be a little more observant so we can make a decision of whether or not to test for seizure episodes. If it was in fact a seizure, 90% of kids go on to never have another seizure again.

She is totally fine today. She hasn't ran a fever or anything so we are pretty confident it wasn't a seizure. Hopefully she doesn't make a habit out of these breath holding spells either!

My Favorite Time of the Day

I love the mornings. Not early in the mornings, but more like 9:30 or 10am. It's when Eden wakes up. I always wake up before her so I have a little time for myself. Most days I just wait and wait for her to wake up becuase she is just so sweet in the mornings. She always gives the best hugs and kisses first thing in the morning.

Today Craig didn't have to work so we got to sleep in a little bit. We had been waiting for Eden to wake up and decided to go check on her. When we went in she was just sleeping so peacefully that we had to get a picture. When Craig went back in to take a picture, the flash woke her up and she was oh so happy to see Daddy getting her up in the morning! He is usually long gone to work by the time she wakes up.

Here she is, sleeping on her belly with her butt in the air... pretty normal. She woke up as soon as he snapped this picture.

All smiles!

Then she starts to stretch

And she chills for a second or two

Then gets all excited and stands up as fast as she can!

I LOVE this toothy smile!

I just love her. That's all.

Boo!

We've had such a fun week! Rebecca and Jared are in town for the week and we've been doing all sorts of fun, new things. First, Craig's grandma taught us how to make her homemade bread. I wish I would have had my camera with me! Here is the finished product. It was the tastiest bread ever. I think I ate the entire loaf in 3 days. It makes the best toast!

Then, on Wednesday we took the kids to the library for Story Time. Again, I wish I would have grabbed my camera because Eden had the best time. She was by far the youngest one there but she still sat on the floor with all of the kids and listened to the stories. She would even clap when they would sing songs and do little motions. It was too cute. I definitely need to start taking her to more story times in the future!

Today we headed out to Schnepf Farms with Nana and Papa. It was a blast! All the bigger kids loved it and wore themselves out! Eden just slept through some of it, but she always has such a good time just watching the bigger kids.

Tonight we went to my parents house and had a spooky dinner. Here are a few things from the menu.

Breadstick Bones

BRAINS!

Some funky scary teeth

Deviled Egg Eyeballs

Worm Salad

Bug Juice!

And last but definitely not least, here is my Litte Witch. A good witch, of course!
