Catching up...

It's been a couple of weeks since I've updated this thing...

Thanksgiving was awesome. We spent the majority of it with my family this year. My mom and grandma made some of the most delicious food ever. They are such good cooks!! I always love it when my family gets together, it's so much fun. I'm so lucky that my family lives so close and that we get to hang out all the time.

On Black Friday, Craig and I did a little shopping. We got a huge comfy recliner for when the baby gets here. It rocks, glides, swivels, reclines, everything! I was super excited. We also picked up a few gifts for our family Christmas exchanges. I knew we shouldn't have shopped that early because now I just want to keep the gifts for myself. For the remainder of the weekend, we just relaxed at home. It was so nice!

That's about all that's been going on lately in the Shaver household. We're counting down the days until the baby gets here. We're nowhere near ready, but I'm sure everything will fall into place within the next 2 months. Here's a picture of my belly, taken this morning in the bathroom at work :o)

28 weeks...

And last but not least, check out my sister's blog. She has 2 of the most adorable boys I've ever seen. Poor baby Jaxson gets soo sleepy and will fall asleep anywhere. This is my favorite post!

26 weeks

At 26 weeks, I finally decided to change doctors. I wasn't all that impressed with my last one and I reallllly want to deliver at the brand new hospital that is a mile away from our apartment. So, I had my first doctor's appointment with the new doctor today. He was super nice and his staff was really quick and efficient. I'm sure it isn't ideal for someone to start coming into their office right when they have to start going every 2 weeks, but they were fine with it. I've gained a whole 2 pounds this pregnancy and the baby weighs right around 2 pounds. Everything else was fine and normal and I have to go back on Monday morning to do my glucose screening test and blood draw. I'm not really looking forward to it.

Lucy's here!

I can't believe I haven't posted this yet! One of my best friends, Jeanette, had her baby a couple of weeks ago on October 20, 2007. Her name is Lucy Gianna and she was 7lbs 7oz. Isn't she such a cute little baby?!! Against my wishes, Jeanette and her husband moved to Ohio about a month and a half before she had Lucy. I was so sad that she left me, but I'm so happy for her and her new little family. I am planning on taking a trip out to Ohio as soon as possible after our baby is born so our little girls can meet. I am so excited!
Jeanette has been such a great friend and example to me. We met in training here at work in January of 2006. She met her husband at work as well and started taking the discussions. In July (or was it June?) 2006, she was babptized a member of the church. In August, her and Jason were married and 5 months later they decided to add to their family. She was sealed to her husband in September 2007 and their little girl was born in October. I am so thankful for her and the example she is to me!

Frustrated...

So, I normally only post the happy, fun things we do. But today has just been a weird day. I've also been super frustrated all day. I can't even pinpoint exactly why I'm frustrated though and that makes me even more frustrated. So, I've decided to make a list of things that are frustrating me today in hopes that it will make me feel better!

- My normal shift is from 6am-3pm. At the last minute on Friday, we were scheduled a late shift so today I'm working from 10am-7pm.

- Over the weekend was Veteran's Day and normally, schools are CLOSED today. But are we? NOPE. I'm stuck here at work until 7! Also, my mother in law invited us over for a yummy dinner tonight that I really wanted to go to since we haven't seen them much lately. But, since I have to work late I can't go.

- I had 6 students start classes today. That's a lot in one day. I've been overly busy today.

- We had so many unexpected bills this month (Craig's freakin MOTOR blowing!). It would have been easy to ask to borrow money from my parents, but we sucked it up and are so broke until Thursday. Besides, I wouldn't want to add to the list of people that are currently using their money. We were doing so good with saving our money, too. Now, most of our savings will go to replacing his motor and we will be back to square one with saving. We've also been on the fast track at paying off my student loans for the past 3 months, paying $640 a month towards them. Only one more payment of $320 and they will be gone forever! YEAH!

- We are officially in the double digit countdown (99 days!!) until our baby is due. As exciting as it is, I can't help but be scared at the same time.

Hopefully tomorrow will be a little bit better of a day!!

This is how bored I get at work...

1. Where did you meet your husband? We met on LDSlinkup.com. After a few emails back and forth (some more rude than others), we decided to meet and have been together ever since.

2. What is the first thing you said to your husband? I don't remember what I first said to him, but I remember what my first thought of him was... uh yeah, he's too short.

3. Where was your first date? Neither of us remember our first actual date. We hung out a lot at my house before we ever went out and did anything.

4. Where was your first kiss? Gosh, this is so bad. On my bed! Well, he was on my bed, I wasn't.

5. Did you have a long or short courtship/engagement? We dated for 9 months and were engaged for 6 weeks.

6. Where did you get engaged? At the Mesa Temple

7. Where did you get married? At a church in Gilbert

9. THE HONEYMOON...We stayed the weekend in North Scottsdale then a few months later, went on a cruise.

10. Who's turn is it next? Tairi's!
