Milestones

Boy am I glad I have a blog. It's the only "journal" I have of my pregnancy and Eden's first year.

Eden is almost 13 months old. Here are some fun things she is doing lately:

* She is still sleeping 12 hours straight at night. She has always been such a great sleeper and I thank her ever day for it. I lay her down in her crib and she usually puts herself to sleep within a few minutes.

* Her vocabulary consists of Hi, Yummy, Tickle, Mommy, Daddy, Nana, Papa, Cheese, baby and a few others I can't think of. She can also sign more, all done, milk and beautiful.

* She can point to various body parts, like her nose, ears, eyes, tongue, mouth, toes, etc.

* She is trying to run

* She loves cheese, eggs, pasta w/ sauce, chicken, pb&j's, and her cousin's sippie cups.

* She loves being outside!

* She loves being the center of attention and making people laugh.

* She absolutely loves playing with other kids. Luckily she has lots of friends and cousins to play with!

* She gets super excited when we ask if she wants to take a bath or shower. She'll start taking her diaper off and run towards the bathroom.

* She is cutting her bottom molars right now. That makes 11 teeth! Lucky for me, teething has never even phased her. I just find random teeth coming in!

* She will not wear anything on her head. No headbands, bows, ponytails, anything. But, she will wear her sunglasses all day long if I let her.

* She has started throwing fits. They are hilarious and I laugh every time. She throws herself on the floor and just sprawls out with her head buried in the ground. Then, she scoots her face along the ground until she hits her head into something hard. If I let her, she'll continue to bang her head over and over into whatever she ran into.

March

March is such crazy month for us! Crazy, but exciting. Eden and I started it off by flying to Ohio for 5 days. It was Eden's first flight and she did way better than I thought she would. Since I was flying with a baby, I boarded first. Eden would stand on my lap and greet every single person that boarded the plane with a huge smile and a "hiiiiiiiii". She would also play peek a boo with random men (she loves men). We had tons of fun in Ohio visiting Jeanette, Jason, Lucy and Nola. The weather was a bit of a shock for this Arizona girl but I survived!

So happy to be in Ohio:

Both Lucy and Eden were obsessed with kissing Nola's head. It was so cute:

Although it was a fun trip, it's always good to come home. Especially when I come home to a clean house and a dozen roses. I think Craig missed us.

Yesterday we went swimming with Jonah and Eli again. It's getting so warm here... I'm not ready for it! I love how much Eden loves the water. She holds her breath so good and even kicks her legs when we're in the water. She'll be swimming by herself in no time!

This weekend we are driving down to Thatcher to see our good friends, Kris and Mary, bless their little baby girl! We always have a good time with them and wish they lived closer! Next weekend we're taking a little road trip to California to attend an engagement party for one of Craig's friends. We will definitely be taking Eden to the beach! I can't wait!

Eden the Fish

We had so much fun yesterday! I've been so excited for Eden to start swimming this summer and yesterday it was finally warm enough to enjoy a nice day out at the pool.

Becky and I were living the good life. We were lounging in the sun, getting served lunch poolside and watching the kiddos play for hours. Eden is definitely a water baby. She wouldn't let me take her out of the water for even 2 seconds. Jonah had tons of fun splashing in the kiddie pool with the 'surfboards' and Eli was in his own little world entertaining himself with the water jets. We could get used to this!

Ohio, here we come!

I am counting down the days until I get to go see my BFF and her girls! I hope Eden does well on the plane and I hope Craig can survive without me!

Lucy and Eden are only 4 months apart so I just know they are going to have a ton of fun together! Nola is one week old now and I can't wait to get my baby fix. Only 14 more days!

Happy Anniversary!

Needless to say, the month of February is pretty busy for us! To celebrate my birthday/our 2nd anniversary, Craig took me out on an all day date! It was so much fun being able to spend an entire day with just us. We sure did miss Eden though! I think we talked about her almost the entire time! First, I woke up to a delicious breakfast and we all sat down and had breakfast together. Then, Craig took Eden to his parents house while I got ready for the day. I had no idea what we were going to be doing!

To start, we went to the bowling alley and bowled 4 games together. I suck so bad! Craig on the other hand is a pretty decent bowler! He just laughed at me the entire time. It was fun. After we bowled, we went and walked around the San Tan Mall and bought a few things for Eden (of course). Then, we went to Home Depot to get a few things for our house and for my new curtains that Tairi made for me! Don't they look good?! (we still need to hem the bottoms)

After we shopped for a while, we went to our all time favorite restaurant, Carrabbas, and had a quiet dinner together. We intended on seeing a movie afterwards but we went to WalMart instead and picked up a few things for Eden's party. Hopefully we'll finish off our date sometime this week and see the movie we were meaning to see that night.

I can't believe I've been married to my best friend for 2 years! He is such an awesome husband and most of all, the sweetest, most loving Dad. He does so much to support our little family and works so hard to make ends meet. I love him so much! He is such a great example to me and is such a great Dad to Eden. Every night we lay in bed together and talk about how lucky we are to have such a beautiful little daughter and such a happy family! 2 years down, only eternity to go! I can not wait! I love you, Craig!

One Year Comparisons

Eden has always loved taking showers with Craig. Here is her first shower with him @ 10 days old:

Birthday Bash

Eden turned ONE on Sunday! She was a total princess all day and acted like she knew it was her birthday. We brought her in bed with us in the morning and Craig and I sang her happy birthday and gave her a million hugs and kisses. Then, we started making cakes and cleaning the house for our families to come over and have cake and ice cream with us. I think Eden's favorite part was having all of her uncles with her at the same time! She loves them!

Eden has such a dainty little personality. She always picks things up one at a time with her little fingers and is always so careful. I made her a giant cupcake thinking that she would just pick at the frosting. She started off slowly and started picking at the sprinkles, then next thing I know she is devouring the entire thing. She inhaled so much cake, I was positive she was going to get sick from all that sugar. Luckily she didn't! She was so cute and loved having all the attention on her... not a big surprise.
