I finally have some time to myself so I thought I would update the good ol' blog. I don't normally have time all alone like this and it's actually quite nice. We got to church today and I noticed that I had this crazy rash all over my neck, chest and arms so I left Craig and Eden at church and I came home. I think it was the perfume I was wearing since I haven't worn it in about 2 years. Ralph Lauren Romance... I hate you! I am itching like crazy.

Craig has been working a lot...like usual. He is taking 18 credit hours next semester and he is so excited. He finally gets to take some pretty cool classes! The bulk of his credits is the Firefighter I and II certification. On top of that he is taking a Hazardous Materials course, a Wildfire Module course and a Vehicle Extrication course. He's going to be super busy for the next 4 months, but he is going to have a lot of fun, I hope. I am still trying to figure out what is cool about running a mile in full turn out gear in 110 degree weather, but whatev.

As for me I am still looking to go back to work. I think about it a lot, but I haven't really done much about it. I just can't imagine how I am going to leave Eden. I have had a few offers from friends and family to watch her so I know she will be in good hands, but I will still be super sad when the time comes. I would really like to watch a kid during the day, but I don't really know anyone who is looking for a babysitter. I was also thinking about getting a job at Hobby Lobby, how cool would that be? I am just afraid that I would spend all my money there. Our lease is up at the end of September so I've been looking at places to live. So many decisions to make.

Eden is growing up so fast. She does so many human tricks! I love it. She sits up all by herself now, scoots herself to her toys and has really found her voice. She has had a runny/stuffy nose lately, too. It's so sad. She has to suck on her pacifier to go to sleep, but she can't breathe very well out her nose so she gets frustrated. She has developed such a silly little personality. Oh yeah, she's finally laughing now! It's taken a while but that's ok. She thinks everything is funny, especially in the morning.

Last week the little booger would not take a nap. I just laid her on our bed and left her alone thinking she would fall asleep. We went to check on her because we hadn't heard her in a while and this is what we found. She had rolled into the window that our bed is up against. She was just chillin and looking outside, being all cute and happy. She must have been like this for about 30 minutes.

Here she is showing off her latest trick - sitting up!

Her favorite thing is bath time. She would take 10 baths a day if I would let her. She splashes and splashes until she splashes all the water out or the water turns cold. It's a great way to keep my kitchen floor clean!

And for a comparison, here she is 5 months ago

J-O-B

The dreaded time has finally come. With Craig taking 16 credit hours next semester and not being able to work on Fridays anymore, we simply can't afford for me to stay at home full time. I am just looking for something part time, about 20 hours a week. So, if any of you know of anyone who is hiring let me know! It would really be appreciated.

This means I have to start looking into childcare for Eden, too. Where do I even start with that?!

And since I can't make a post without a picture of Eden, I leave you with this mad face. I guess this is how I am feeling about going back to work.

Starting Solids

I decided it was time to start introducing Eden to some solid foods on a more consistent basis. She's had a few bites of things here and there, like fruit smoothies, homemade ice cream and bahama bucks (bad, I know!). So, we got out her Bumbo and gave rice cereal a try.

We started with plain rice cereal

Then I gave her a taste of Butternut Squash. This is her gagging, how sad!

She tolerated it once I mixed them together

Apparently her toes were more appealing

It's hard to believe that my little baby is getting so big. She loves to give big, wet, open mouth kisses... it is so sweet. She's also rolling EVERYWHERE, from one end of the room to the other but she gets so mad when she gets stuck in the vertical blinds or when she rolls into the entertainment center. All I know is that I am NOT ready for her to start crawling!

The Maxfield's

Ahhh, I can't believe my little sister is married. That makes me feel like I'm getting old. This wedding has been in the works for a long time and it was so good to finally see them finally sealed to each other forever. They have been together since they were in high school and Sam just got back from his mission in May and they wasted NO time. Brooke looked SO beautiful, as always. They are so happy and I am so happy for them! Here are some fun pictures from our crazy night....

July Update

Things we've done this month so far...

Rolled over! Yay Eden! She rolls over from her belly to her back but not the other way around. She's trying though! Update: 2 days later and she's a pro at rolling both ways!

Brooke and Sam are getting married in 4 days! We had her bridal shower over the weekend, so much fun.

And most importantly, we've just been doing a lot of hangin around...

Just Killing Time

Today Craig had to drive to New Mexico for work so Eden and I were all alone today. We didn't do much, just napped and played a lot together. Tairi invited us over for dinner so we joined them for dinner and went swimming. My nephews are so dang cute and they are growing up so fast. We took some pictures of Boston and Eden together in the same pose we took of them last month. They have both grown so much! Boston has outgrown Eden, but she isn't far behind!

Here they are in May

And here they were earlier today!

Aren't they so cute?? They are such different babies in just about every way possible. Look at how white Eden is! Here she is swimming, her new favorite thing. It was like taking a giant bath since the water was so warm.
